Accelerated Learning Shift #1: Partnerships

“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” -Helen Keller

Establishing and supporting positive school-community relationships and building partnerships with students’ families is essential for students and schools to succeed. At the heart of these partnerships is the belief that every child deserves a supportive network that understands who they are, believes in who they can become, and supports them on their journey towards success.

There is also a shared belief that schools with active family and community partnerships are stronger support networks for students than schools with limited relationships outside the walls of their schools. The Parent-Teacher Home Visit network has long championed family engagement as an avenue to student success.

We encourage you to consider how you can enhance or transform your school’s partnerships with students, families, and community groups because as Helen Keller reminds us, “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.”
