Author Rick Riordan never intended to write a children’s book. But then, because of his ADHD and dyslexia, his second grade son was having a tough year in school. He hated reading and writing. But he loved Greek Mythology. When Rick ran out of mythological tales to tell his son at bedtime, he started making up his own and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief was born.
